About Mike & Mollie

Our Story
We’re Mike and Mollie—college sweethearts, parents of four, and longtime believers that a good life doesn’t have to be an expensive one. We met at cross-country camp in college, where Mike fell for Mollie fast. She came around eventually—and now, more than a decade later, we’re raising four kids, homeschooling, working from home, and learning how to make the most of every dollar.
Frugal living isn’t just a strategy for us—it’s a lifestyle we’ve embraced with joy and purpose. Over the years, we’ve paid off debt, built savings, and learned how to live well on less. We meal plan, shop secondhand, stretch every grocery trip, and have created a home that feels full—not because of stuff, but because of the love and intention behind it.
Mollie is the brains behind our budget and the queen of finding great deals. She homeschools, manages the household, and turns everyday life into something beautiful with good food, books, and coffee. Mike works in digital marketing and runs a few side hustles on the side. He’s the big-picture thinker and always looking for smart ways to save, invest, and build a life of freedom.
Why Trust Us?
We’ve been living below our means and making intentional money choices for over a decade. We know what it’s like to raise a big family on a modest income—and still prioritize savings, generosity, and quality of life. From budgeting apps to pantry challenges, secondhand finds to family finance systems, we’ve tried it all. The wins and the mistakes.
Mollie has a degree in early childhood education and runs a frugal, homeschool-friendly household with creativity and care. Mike has self-published a book on simple living, and together we’ve written hundreds of articles on living with intention. Our writing has been featured on sites like Becoming Minimalist, and our original blog, This Evergreen Home, reaches hundreds of thousands of readers each year.
This new blog is our space to focus specifically on the money side of intentional living—how to spend less, save more, and still build a rich family life. We’re not financial advisors. We’re just real people doing our best to live wisely and share what’s worked along the way.
If you’re looking for practical, encouraging ideas to help you live well on less, we’re glad you’re here.
